Helloooooooooooo! Back from the land of good food and polite people aka Taiwan!!! The people there are really really very nice ok, they say sorry and thank you whenever needed and you can totally feel their sincerity when they say it. The shopkeepers also don't give you the buey gam attitude when you walk out of their shop without buying anything! LOVE IT.
Had macs breakfast with le parents and bf at the airport before flying off @ around 9am :)
Yea babeh our first overseas trip together
Feels like just yesterday i was so excited for this trip and now here i am typing this post already. Why does time seem to past faster as we grow older? : (
Bf wanted to do this holding hand shot throughout the trip but this was the ONE & ONLY photo he took lol #fail #BanTuErFei
IT WAS SUPA SUNNY OMG
Grabbed a big ass bao from 7-11 when we landed cause we were so hungryyyy
Almost same size as ma face yo
Took a long bus ride from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main station!
Finally reached our hotel around 4 i think! We stayed at Kingshi Hotel in the Ximending area :) The "hotel" only takes up 2 levels of a building though so we had quite a difficult time finding it xD But the location was good i guess, 10mins walk from XMD night market and there are quite a few shops around!
Went to walk around XMD right after we settled down. Was finding smth to eat and saw this japanese stall with quite a few people queueing so we decided to try it as well!
It's something like grilled mochi?
Bought the cheese flavoured one! I was expecting something really cheesy and salty but i think this was more towards the sweet side. The cheese wasn't cheesy and it came with condensed milk which made it sweeter! The mochi texture was not bad but it was a bit bland to me ><
Continued exploring XMD and saw a super long queue!!!! Then we realised it was the famous Ah Zong Mian Xian! So we decided to queue and try it too :) The queue moved super fast though so if you see a super long queue dont worry about the queueing time!
Goodness in one small bowl
This mian xian is damn gooooooood! And instead of the usual oysters it's filled with pig intestines! But the pig intestines were too tough :( Booooooo. Still came back for it on the 2nd last night though hehe

First BBT in Taiwan: The famous 50 lan which tastes awesome!!!!!
Awww poor bf didn't manage to catch the toy xD
Everything in Taiwan tastes so good?? Even this fishball wtf
Had mango shaved ice for desserts and it was awesome too, what's new.
Walked past a Mirada departmental store while otw back and decided to explore it too! Quite meh though cause it was filled with lots of cosmetics/facial stuff for ladies! 2nd floor was not bad cause there's food and drinks! Bought some back to store in our hotel hehe
Day 1 loots from XMD! Each pair of shoes costed me less than 10$ and the clothes were quite cheap too!
Day 2: Jiu Fen + Shi Fen + Kee Lung
Decided to try some food from the convenient store Family Mart cause they look so good! Bought these mashed potato thingy for breakfast :)
It was good at first taste but after awhile it tasted kinda bad lol.
Took the TRA (different from the Metro) to Rui Fang Station! Was our first time buying the tickets and it was so confusingggggg like they asked a lot of questions which didn't make sense to us so we just chose whatever sounded right haha
So we unknowingly got tickets WITHOUT seats, which means we can only sit on the seats that no one is allocated to :( But luckily we chose the right seats and managed to sit throughout the train ride!
If not we would have been like them lol
OH DID I MENTION THAT IT WAS A FREAKING OVEN IN TAIWAN? SUPA HOT I WORE SLEEVELESS EVERYDAY AND STILL FELT LIKE MELTING
Just look at how sunny it is my bf can't even open his eyes hahahah
Cool la
Waited for like half an hour for the bus to JiuFen but realised we were waiting at the wrong bus stop lol the info board at the bus stops are kinda hard to intepret at first. So we decided to take a cab in the end! Which was one of the best decisions we made cause it was freaking hot?!
JUST LOOK AT DAT. NICE SCENERY BUT FREAKING HOT AND SUNNY (Sorry for whining i can't stand the heat)
But thank god the Jiufen Old street is sheltered all the way so we didn't die of heat stroke.
Had lunch at the first stall we saw when we entered the street! Beef noodles for Louis and fishball noodles for me :) Wanted smth plain cause i wasn't feeling well but the bf's beef noodles was so much nicer!!! The soup wasn't that heavy tasting (?) and the beef was soft too! My fishball noodles tasted damn saltyyyyy me no likey.
Had this Blackball-dessert thingy and i loved it! But the bf didn't like it that much cause of the ginger soup haha but it only comes in ginger soup if i rmb correctly.
OH this ice cream thing is a MUST TRY. There are quite a few stalls selling this so you won't miss it!
It's like yam and pineapple ice cream with peanut wrapped in popiah skin. The ice cream wasn't that good but the best part was the peanut!!! It's like they freshly shave it off a huge ass block of peanut when you order and the peanut taste/smell is damn goooooddddd
Crowded Jiufen street. But it wasn't that bad because no one was pushing and everyone was so organized like people walking forward will be on the right and people heading out will be on the left :) Oh ya in Taiwan, instead of standing/walking on the left like in Sg, we had to stand/walk on the right. Took me like 2 days to get used to it and then it felt a little weird readjusting back when i came back to Sg xD
Pretty musical instruments (Idk what they call it) for sale! Hand painted by the very humourous salesman! He was all like (translated to english) :" This costs only 100 NTD, cheaper than a cup of coffee! Even if it drops and breaks you also won't feel heart pain" Hahaha okay maybe it was the way he said it that made it sound damn funny :'D
Louis bought 1 cause he loves all these weird nonsense :D Oooooo it's called a Ocarina!
HUGE ASS WATERMELON
The view at the end of the street was really amazing. You can see all the tiny houses at the bottom and the endless hills and mountains everywhere
BLOODY HOT
Chou DouFu!!! Really not that bad once you get past the smell! But you're gonna have smelly breath after that lol
Cabbed back to Ruifang station and headed to Shi Fen!
Saw a few people queueing for this fried squid and it smelled damn good so we decided to try it too! Bad choice. It wasn't good at all. Probably a 4/10? The squid just tasted weird.
This was before we tried the squid i believe
Super long walk from the station to Shifen Waterfall! Regret not renting the scooter cause it looks so fun :(
Mandatory railway shot at Shifen!
Cause it was such a long walk and we both damn sweaty and sticky :(
FINALLY REACHED OMG. And just nice we had half an hour to see the waterfall before the place closes! Important lesson learnt: Rmb to check the closing times of wherever you're going! Who knew viewing a waterfall had timings too?
Walked back to Shifen station to release our Kong Ming Lantern around 7pm! Retarded bf couldn't write a proper sentence in chinese so all the english words were written by him xD
This is him pretending he can write chinese characters
Travelled to Kee Lung after that for dinner!
It's not everyday you get to see a man driving/controlling a train :D
From Keelung station you just have to across an overhead bridge and straight all da way till you see a Mcdonald's and that's where Keelung night market is! This place is famous for having lotsa seafood!
Finally drank some Aiyu jelly in taiwan :) And tried this crab soup thingy which is damn delicious?! Like sharks fin but crab version haha
Had butter crabs for dinner! The sauce was damn good but sadly the crab meat wasn't very fresh :( Didn't really like the crab
Look at the amount of seafood there is x10 other stalls
This pao pao bing is damn shiok!!!!!
Day 2 loots! Clothes were from Keelung night market! There were some stalls at the side selling clothes :) Bought damn good pineapple cake and ginger tea from jiufen :)
LOVE CHU
